Why Give?
Our mission at the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center is to provide quality, compassionate and affordable healthcare for everyone. Last year alone, we saw nearly 19-thousand patients—meeting their needs for medical, dental and behavioral health services. However, not everyone who comes to us has insurance or the ability to pay.
Every year the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center provides "uncompensated care" to thousands of residents in our community, who would otherwise go without. We are one of only a few health care providers in this region with a full-spectrum of health care services available and an "open door" for those in desperate need, and unable to pay. Every year, our doors remain open and our experienced, dedicated staff is here to serve.
If you could see it through our eyes, you'd see a young mother, trying to scrape by financially with her toddler--now due for a vaccination; or parents, who no longer have health care coverage, who show up at our door with two sick school-aged children; or a grandmother in need of dentures, who again deserves a beautiful smile.

“He who has health has hope; and he who has hope has everything.” Proverb
People like Linda Crowder and her 3 daughters, who've been coming to the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center since Linda was a kid growing up in Kansas City, over 30 years ago, because "the doctors are wonderful and everyone is friendly and treats you with kindness."
There's also the Palek family, with their young daughter. Ana Palek is expecting her second child any day now, and thanks to the quality prenatal care she's receiving at the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center, she will likely have a second healthy daughter and a bright future for her family, in Kansas City.
Every year, we rely on generous people like you—and the heartfelt donations of caring local businesses and foundations—to keep our vital practice of serving the community's health needs, going. Every year, the demand for health care services goes up and so far, every year we've been able to meet the demand. These are unprecedented times and the need is greater than ever.
If you'd like to help with our Annual Fund, which goes to treating people like the Crowder and Palek family, or if you'd like to contribute to our Capital Campaign Fund to specify an area to donate in a loved one's name or to help us create the new Legacy Park, please go to either of these pages in this section of our website for more information. You really can make a difference in the lives of so many, with your gift.
Thank you for considering the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center in your gift planning!
